Thank you for visiting our website. So you want to know a little bit about us? Here goes - we are Nick and Jenny, a husband and wife team (*sigh* we know, another one). We run a textile graphic studio (again, we know and yes, we also wear thick black rimmed glasses) and are fortunate enough to travel abroad frequently for work. Our travels open up our world to all varieties of design, style, food, people and places.
Vintage furniture and objects are our passion. Key areas in our search are Mid Century, Art Deco, Americana and Retro. We love mixing old pieces with new, clashing different era's to produce a harmonious result. We are a little obsessed about our key focus areas, maybe a little bit worryingly so, but it is our passion. It compliments our design business and vice versa. We love the hunt. Anyone can source a Mid Century piece of furniture but our challenge is to buy it at as reasonable price as possible (Jenny used to be a buyer so she is armed and sometimes a little dangerous) so that we can then pass this saving onto the customer. Good design should not cost the earth. Decorating a home should not break the bank, we hope to help towards creating the home that you want and will love. We are also here for those special occasions that call for a gift. Something unusual and considered. Some of our vintage pieces have understandable wear and tear conducive with age but we never sell anything we would not want to live with in our own home. These items are a testament to their era, their craftsman, their manufacturer. They have stood the test of time and are ready to be re-loved and appreciated for many more years to come.
Our inventory of items are a constant running list of everything that you may need in your home or could give as a gift. It is our edited version of the many pieces that we source and come across on our travels. Every room in your house is considered in our inventory. There maybe a 1950s dressing table for your bedroom, a beautiful old glass apothecary bottle for your bathroom, a Robert Heritage sideboard for your living room, an Eames chair for your hallway or a vintage milk pan for your kitchen stove. Our pieces are functional but beautiful. On occasion the odd beautiful piece may slip through for just being beautiful but a bit of pretty every now and again never hurt anyone. In an era of recycling, we at House Inventory say, 'Recycle and do it in style'.
